Sheldon Romero was born in Bogota, Colombia. He grew up in a very close knit family. The house was always filled with traditional Colombian music such as Vallenato, Cumbia, and Salsa. At the age of 8, he was influenced by his father who was an ex-opera baritone and the music of Elvis Presley.
In the mid 80’s, when Break Dancing and Free-Style exploded on the music scene, he became fascinated with the industry and began working at a record store. Sheldon became inspired to develop his own style of Djing, starting to spin at private parties.
In 1991, Sheldon’s destiny was changed! A DJ friend could not make it to work at a local dance club, he called Sheldon to fill in. That evening, with very little notice but lots of energy, he performed for 5 energetic hours to a stellar crowd . Because of his impressive performance, the owner of the club offered him a weekly residency on the spot and Sheldon rocked the house every Saturday night for the next 3 years. After that night, Sheldon’s talent for taking people through a journey with his unique mixing skills, energy, voice, and enthusiasm, led him to perform in major cities Miami, New York City, New Jersey And Spain. He was in demand in upscale clubs such as ‘Pure Platinum’, ‘Solid Gold’, and ‘Thee DollHouse’.
In 2002, he completed a residency at ‘Saci’ nightclub in New York City. In addition, he made special guest appearances at various clubs across the country such as ‘Float’, ‘One51’ and ‘Nativa’ in New York City, ‘Evolution’ in Philadelphia and ‘Static’ at the 2002 Winter Music Conference in Florida.
With the popularity of the Internet, Sheldon Romero was at the forefront of the ever-changing music scene. His unique mixing skills were heard on the Internet with shows on Nightclubcity and Metromixradio. Due to the overwhelming response and great reviews from these shows Sheldon was asked to play in nyc's biggest clubs and parties like Pacha NYC, Roxy, Crobar, Spirit, Soundfactory, Exit and Asseterian NYC.
In 2003, Sheldon remixed Dj Whiteside ‘Rescue Me’ for Subliminal Records and then collaborted with his cousin Jorge Jaramillo of Who Da Funk on the Subliminal hit 'House Music Pneumonia’.
Sheldon is currently married to Colombian Beauty Queen Cristina Duque and formed the record label Wicked Music.
With his first release 'Flesh' for Stereo Productions and Sheldon’s second release the world wide hit 'Dirty Things' feat Betty Brooklyn also on Stereo. Be on the look out for his remix of Rickster 'Nightmoves' with his forthcoming Studio projects this is just the beginning...
